| Izvleček: | Is "matérialisme aléatoire" the theoretical "bombshell" Louis Althusser pretended it to be? It is rather a medley of references from Democritus to Heidegger which, all finalism being rejected, opens up to a re-examination of the idea of "subjectless process" and to the search for a non-"marxist" but pro-"marxist" philosophy. Yet, this re-examination is limited by two reasserted theses: a subject, even if revolutionary, is caught within the ideological illusion, and the bourgeois/proletarian and idealist /materialist pairs are superimposed. This opening and closing puts L.A. in a critical situation further emphasized by his inablity to give back to his friends what is theirs: critical reflection on "matérialisme aléatoire" and materialist tendancies outside Marx (P. Raymond), "interstices" allowing the action of the masses (P. Raymond and E. Balibar), and readings of Spinoza (P. Macherey) and Wittgenstein (D. Lecourt). |
