| Summary: | Oppositions and relations between the three French "schools" of regulation – in chronological order: the systemic school (the author's), the Parisian and the Grenoble schools – are briefly characterized. We will thus discuss the conceptions of economic regulation and systems, the transformations and historical types of capistalist regulation and the ideological and political implications of the debate. In connection with a radically new mixed regulation, two possibilities are indicated : new criteria of management for social efficiency and new institutions of mutualization which divide some of the costs among several firms in order to master the labour and capital markets. |
