要約:A « greening » - rather than an « ecological collapse » - of capitalism is to be expected : industry will be using less space and less energy, biotechnological agriculture fewer chemicals, at least in Europe and Japan. The problem is cultural, not technical: because of the power of capitalism to invade, nature vanishes into culture and vice versa. Civilisation becomes a recycling phenomenon and thus loses its meaning as people lose their identity within a general network system, except if, through a symbolic and practical disconnection, they « cut off » from nature and markets.
