Sumari:It is often supposed that analytical Marxism is inspired by analytical philosophy. This is only partly true, and in a particular sense of the latter term. Analytical philosophy contains a systematizing and theory-building tendency and an anti-systematic, "ordinary-language" current. Analytical Marxism stands much closer to the former than to the latter. It holds a neutral, a-political conception of philosophical practice, conceived of as an instrument for the reconstruction of those fragments of Marxism still capable of being salvaged as good social science.
