| 总结: | Because they consider Nasser’s revolution as a way of binding together national development and moral strength, the Egyptian socialists promote the package of reforms the regime leads in the young Egyptian Republic: the adoption of Arab socialism by the National Charter promulgated in 1961-1962, provides the framework for a national model of social justice and sovereignty, to which all Egyptian intellectuals agree. The magazine al-Kātib [The Writer] which becomes a reference for the entire Arab intelligentsia since its launch in 1961, appears to be one of the ideal vehicles of Arab socialism. The editorial board intends to combine human sciences and political issues, thus reproducing in the field of family mores, the paradoxes of Nasser’s socialism. This paper aims at studying the echoes that al-Kātib carries of the Egyptian demographic debate under Nasser, in that it reveals the lack of formalization of birth control policies. |
