| Summary: | Main description: Das Dictionnaire historique de l'anthroponymie romane, von dem im Jahr 2004 bereits ein erster Teilband (II/1) erschienen ist, verzeichnet in Artikeln, deren Struktur sich an den großen etymologischen Wörterbücher orientiert, Personenennamen vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart und präsentiert diese nach einem speziell für das Projekt entwickelten klaren Ordnungssystem. Der vorliegende Band führt in das Gesamtprojekt PatRom wie in das Wörterbuch selbst ein, stellt dessen Editionsprinzipien vor und gibt eine kurze Übersicht zu den etymologischen Grundlagen des Suffix in den romanischen Sprachen. Bibliographien zur Onomastik wie zu den Referenzwerken runden den Band ab. Ein Verzeichnis der benützten romanischsprachigen Quellen wird in einem separaten Band publiziert Main description: The initially published volume (Vol. II/1) of the Dictionary of Romance Anthroponymy appeared in 2004. In the form of articles modelled on those of the major etymological dictionaries, it lists personal names in the Romance languages from the Middle Ages to the present, in line with a classification system devised in the framework of the PatRom project. The present volume assembles the introductions to the PatRom project and the dictionary itself, sets out the editorial principles established for the dictionary, provides a brief introduction to the etymological foundations of Romance suffixes, and rounds off with a set of bibliographies, both onomastic and referential.
