The Stevensons and Conrad experiment with the genre of terrorist literature, using polyphony and irony to defuse terror out of terrorism. I will show that both novels are built on the figure of the anamorphosis, both novels displaces and explodes their original focal point, creating comic quiproquos or “une écriture du désastre” able to place communal values as a counterpoint to terrorism. |
