Après avoir analysé les caractéristiques ornementales de Prinzessin Brambilla, je tenterai de généraliser la poétique de la prose ornementale à des textes d’époques et de langues différentes. The romance Prinzessin Brambilla by E.T.A. Hoffmann offers various interpretations, but neither the theory of the fantastic literature, nor the theory of the grotesque and the romantic irony covers all the rich meanings of the text. The concept of the ornamentation combines all the principles of the former interpretations and is linked to the text of Hoffmann. After analizing the ornamentic characteristics of Prinzessin Brambilla I try to generalize the poetics of the ornamentic prose to be aplicable to texts written in very different times and languages. La novela titulada Prinzessin Brambilla de E.T.A. Hoffmann ofrece múltiples interpretaciones, pero ni la teoría de lo fantástico, de lo grotesco carnavalesco, ni la de la ironía romántica o la narratología abarca toda la riqueza del texto. El concepto de la ornamentación retoma y reune principios teóricos presentes en las demás interpretaciones mencionadas y se vincula estrechamente con el mismo texto de Hoffmann. Después de demostrar los aspectos ornaménticos de la obra, intentamos extender la concepción generalizada de la prosa ornaméntica a textos escritos en otros idiomas y épocas.
