El idealismo de Fichte como “kantismo bien entendido”: dispersión, unidad y Yoidad
In the Second Introduction, Fichte constructs and explains his conception of idealism (the Science of Knowledge) in opposition with Kantianism, and more specifically with its dogmatism and empiricism. The criticism of dogmatism –where the I appears fragmented and dispersed in things–, is followed by...

The criticism of dogmatism –where the I appears fragmented and dispersed in things–, is followed by that of Kantians that aimed to ground the I in the multiplicity of the given. This criticism leads to Fichte’s interpretation of Kantianism and to a new perspective on the unity and the Selfhood. In this paper, we will begin by analyzing the exhortation to decide between dogmatism and idealism in the First Introduction (1). Then we are going to work on the criticism of dogmatism as dispersion and adhesion to things in Fichte’s later works (2). In this perspective the “Kantianism properly understood” of the Second Introduction appears (3), in order to consider how the unity of the Science of Knowledge is justified (4), according to three moments: (a) the intellectual intuition, (b) the one and the multiple, (c) empiricism. With the I in the center of the study, the reciprocal interrelation and communitarian dimension of the Selfhood will become clear (5). Finally, we are going to make some general consideration on Fichte’s idealism. |
