In order to demonstrate this statement, we examine Novalis’ correspondence, alongside two of his main works: Das Allgemeine Brouillon. Materialien zur Enzyklopädistik and Die Christenheit oder Europa, both belonging to 1799, the year in which the controversy primarily took place.
