While typical cases in Homer reflect basic psychosomatic reactions in a very straightforward way, this is rather the exception than the rule in Victorius. Instead, Victorius sometimes constructs theological relations between a sin and a bodily punishment. His focus is not on a psychologically realist description, but on the ways in which God uses the body as a means to communicate with individuals and to set them back onto the right path. |
