In this paper I approach the poem according to narratological categories, as primarily established by Gérard Genette. After some preliminary remarks about the relationship between narrative and exegesis in the poem, I consider the Alethia under the headings of temporal ordering, focalization (broadly speaking point of view), and metalepsis, incorporating the various ways in which Victorius departs from the epic convention of the detachment of the poet from his narrative. Such a theoretical perspective has the advantage of throwing into prominence features that might otherwise escape notice and allows an assessment of the Alethia’s quality as a narrative composition. L’Alethia en tant que poème narratif devrait être analysable en utilisant les principes théoriques de la narrativité, qui tendent à une application universelle. Dans cet article, j’aborde le poème selon les catégories narratologiques, telles que les a établies G. Genette. Après quelques remarques préliminaires sur la relation entre narration et exégèse dans le poème, j’envisage l’Alethia sous les aspects de la mise en ordre temporelle, de la focalisation (le point de vue au sens large du terme), et de la métalepse. J’inclus dans mon analyse les diverses manières dont Victorius s’écarte de la convention épique de détachement du poète par rapport à sa matière. Une telle perspective théorique présente l’avantage de mettre en avant des éléments qui pourraient autrement ne pas être remarqués et permet d’évaluer la qualité de l’Alethia en tant que composition narrative.
