From Egypt to Morocco through Lebanon, Syria, Algeria and Tunisia, Moliere, the French playwright of all times, is omnipresent. The influence of his plays on the Arabic stage is of such that they have become the most commonly performed. He is a cultural reference, a source of inspiration, a model to emulate and beyond which to go. To help grasp the profound impact of Moliere’s works on modern Arabic drama, we will analyze in this paper the contributions of three transnational figures : the Lebanese Marun al Naquash, the Egyptian Yacoub Sanua and of the Maroccan Tayeb Saddiki.
