The article investigates the implications of the protagonist’s abortion for her concept of self, as well as manifests the objectification of a pregnant woman during both labouring and abortive procedures. It scrutinizes what role the relationship between the heroine and her late mother plays in the identity formation and the healing process of the former, emphasizing the importance of intergenerational transmission.
