Reading World space through American cinema. The Hollywood cinema is inserted into the globalization by its ways of production and the influence of its sales force which tends to make it hegemonic in the world cultural scene. Some recent films take the globalization as subject: The world tour in 80 days (2003, according to the novel of J. Verne), The Lord of War (2005, about arms dealing), The Constant Gardener (2005, on the pharmaceutical business in Africa), Blood Diamond (2006, on the mining and the traffic in diamond in Sierra Leone), and Babel (2005, three crossed tragic destiny). These films, offer us the vision of the globalization of Hollywood and allow us geographer’s reflection on the organization and the functioning of the space world. They accentuate the control of the space world, relations of domination and question us about the place of Africa in the globalization.
