One of the first building conservation trusts, the TPT improved the living conditions of the city’s poor whilst conserving Stirling’s historic built environment. They were a forward-thinking organisation, employing and training women property managers, inspired by the work of Octavia Hill (1838-1912). The legacy of the TPT lives on in Scotland’s contemporary City Heritage Trusts. Le Thistle Property Trust (TPT) a été créé à Stirling en 1928. Son objectif était de restaurer des bâtiments historiques et traditionnels qui étaient devenus des taudis délabrés et étaient situés au sommet de la ville de Stirling. L'un des premiers trusts consacrés à la conservation des bâtiments, le TPT a amélioré les conditions de vie des pauvres de la ville tout en préservant l’environnement bâti historique de Stirling. C’était une organisation avant-gardiste, employant et formant des femmes responsables de la gestion immobilière, inspirée par les travaux d’Octavia Hill (1838-1912). L’héritage du TPT se perpétue dans les City Heritage Trusts écossais à l’époque contemporaine. |
