It will show that biomedical data are integrated and examine the details of that integration. In a context of social mixing and openness, the circulation of biomedical information (IEC, media, research teams, migratory experiences) is noted to have an impact on popular representations: the mosquito, as well as its intermediaries, are associated with sumaan ndiig, a less banal disease. The perception of persistent fever is changing. Beyond the impact of educational campaigns, this changing attitude is also determined by the current subjective experiences of families faced with this disease. However, the specificity of representations about the rainy season, children’s vulnerability and some popular knowledge is still evoked in the etiological constructions of malaria. These “bridges” built in a syncretic way between these various referents give an account of malaria as being a disease that is currently changing in the understanding of parents. Cairn free access
