| الملخص: | This article presents the findings of a qualitative study in social sciences, conducted by the French Observatory of Drugs and Addictive Trends (OFDT), on parental control over juvenile cannabis use. Semi-structured interviews were conducted between 2020 and 2021 with 28 parents of adolescent users aged 16 to 17. Parents’ strategies tend to fall into two main categories: those based on enforcing strict rules and those taking a more indirect approach, favouring negotiation. In this context, being a cannabis-using parent has significant implications for detecting adolescent consumption. The study shows that parents’ experiential knowledge can serve both as a resource and an educational tool in managing their child’s cannabis use. |
