Description
Résumé:This article analyses the construction of the role of employers’ unionse in the area of associative work. Through the history of Snaecso (French National Union of Employer Associations for Staff Serving Social and Sociocultural Centres s), created in 1971, which became Elisfa (French Employer Union for Social and Family Support) in 2019, the progressive production of the union’s different areas of activity can be observed: accompanying, representing, negotiating. The survey, which looks at the evolution of this employers’ organisation over some fifty years, also shows the competition and complementarity issues at play in the associative employers’ field, but also vis-à-vis non-profit federations. The article also highlights the specific nature of employers involved in this employer organisation, whose careers are marked by activism in employee associations and unions.
