L’architecture y joue un rôle primordial comme mode de défense contre la peur (émotion qui me déboute de toute localisation) grâce à la singularisation d’espaces habitables. Pierre Kaufmann’s refoundation of aesthetics : about some privilege or architecture Pierre Kaufmann’s Emotional Experience of Space may be read as an attempt at refounding aesthetics from the point of view of an anthropology centered on the subject’s splitting : i.e. an aesthetics in which neither the beautiful, nor pleasure, nor contemplation play a central part but attempting to understand the conditions through which the work of art may surge and the modalities through which the subject becomes part and parcel of its own space. Therein architecture plays a primal part as defence mechanism against fear (i.e. an emotion which casts me away form any localization) through the singularity of liveable spaces.Cairn free access
