The Debat, which is the subject of this article, is preserved in four manuscripts and in an incunabulum by Jean de Liège (active in Valenciennes, ca 1500) ; as W’s copyist sometimes used contemporary incunabula as models, in particular editions by Colard Mansion, we collated the text of the manuscript – the only one that does not attribute these verses to Olivier de La Marche – and that of the Valenciennes imprint, in order to verify their similarity. However, the result is negative : even if it is impossible to reconstruct a stemma, it nevertheless seems highly unlikely that W’s copyist had the text of the incunabulum before his eyes. Cairn restricted access
