This article provides a comparative, intertextual and complementary analysis of the variations of the subject of the painter in contemporary Latin American novel through two examples: The tunnel of Ernesto Sabato and Hopscotch of Julio Cortázar. The variation in the case of Sabato analyzes the descriptive and critical view of painter Castel on his work Maternity.
