En déplaçant la lecture de l’œuvre multiple de Pessoa vers la mise en fiction du poète et de ses doubles, et en réglant la fiction sur le modèle du rêve, du délire et de l’hallucination, Antonio Tabucchi s’inscrit lui-même dans la fantasmagorie du roman, passe avec Requiem de l’italien au portugais, et livre son portrait d’artiste en jeune Pessoa.Portrait of Antonio Tabucchi as a Posthumous Heteronym of Fernando Pessoa : Fiction, Dream, Fantasmagoria Through the analysis of Antonio Tabucchi’s books (essays, short stories, novel) dedicated to Fernando Pessoa, this article examines the paradoxical hypothesis that the Italian writer named « Antonio Tabucchi » would truly be a posthumous heteronym of the Portuguese poet, lately sprung out of the « trunk full of people ». By transforming the reading and interpretation of Pessoa’s writings in works of fiction where the poet and his other selves appear as ghostly figures – on the model of a dream, of a delirium and even of an hallucination –, Antonio Tabucchi situates himself in his own novelistic fantasmagoria, moves from Italian to Portuguese with Requiem, and draws his portrait of an artist as a young Pessoa.Cairn free access
