Samenvatting:Coastal law highlights the importance of the rules governing public contracts and the public domain in coastal areas (related to beaches, to properties owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral or estuaries). The planning law provisions of the Coastal Act of 3 January 1986 are still the object of administrative case law, which stresses the importance of planning documents in implementing the protective principles of the Act. The protection of small cetaceans in the Bay of Biscay from fishing activities is still subject of disputes. The IMO and above all the EU are stepping up their efforts to fight against atmospheric emissions from ships. Appeals against offshore wind turbines are still ongoing.
