This article aims at retracing, from a historical perspective, stages in the evolution of the concept of reparation – which is at the basis of this process – in contemporary international policy, even before environmental issues became a priority. Conflicts, pollution, climate change: a multifaceted and often overlooked path, bound by the common thread of reparation throughout decades.L’approbation des dispositions relatives à la mise en œuvre du Fonds pour pertes et préjudices a été considérée, à juste titre, comme l’un des principaux résultats obtenus par la 28e Conférence des Parties à la CCNUCC à Dubaï. Ce résultat a couronné un long voyage diplomatique, donnant une reconnaissance formelle à un sujet largement débattu. Cet article vise à retracer, dans une perspective historique, quelques étapes de l’évolution du concept de réparation – qui est à la base de ce processus – dans la politique internationale contemporaine, bien avant que la question environnementale ne devienne une priorité.
