With ʺSolvabilité IIʺ, the decade 2010-2020 has seen the importance of the actuarial function in the governance of insurance companies confirmed, and the pace of technological change accelerated. The successive shocks observed since the 2020s, against a backdrop of intensifying climatic, geopolitical, and cyber risks, now place actuaries in the position of experts and benchmark players on a broader spectrum of sustainability-related risks, calling into question the very fundamentals of insurance. At the service of the general interest, the French Institute of Actuaries, which has organized and represented the profession for over 130 years, encourages innovation and inter disciplinarity to support these transitions.Les actuaires sont des professionnels de l’évaluation, de la modélisation et de la gestion des risques dans leurs dimensions économique, financière, assurantielle et sociale. Garants des équilibres de long terme du système assurantiel et financier, ils interviennent sur l’ensemble de la chaîne de valeur des organismes de Place. La décennie 2010-2020 a consacré avec Solvabilité II l’importance de la fonction actuarielle dans la gouvernance des entreprises d’assurance, et vu une accélération des ruptures technologiques. Les chocs successifs observés depuis les années 2020, sur fond d’intensification des risques climatiques, géopolitiques, ou encore cyber, placent désormais les actuaires en position d’experts et intervenants de référence sur un spectre élargi de risques liés à la durabilité, qui questionne les fondamentaux mêmes de l’assurance.
