Even before imagining its triumph one day, the immediate task is to prevent it from stagnating, or even regressing. How can we do this? By doing what those involved in sustainable finance have always done: moving forward with conviction to turn finance around without abandoning rationality, or even the logic of return. This ethic of change is the one that has always driven the French insurer MAIF, and which prevails in the management of its portfolio of 20 billion euros in assets – a source of profitability and positive impact. It’s this vision that we want to share, by affirming that a path exists on two conditions: assume a share of commitment to keep the flame burning, and standardize it to pass it on to as many people as possible.À l’heure à laquelle un puissant mouvement anti-ESG secoue le monde financier aux États-Unis et pourrait s’étendre à d’autres continents, la question de l’avenir de la finance durable est posée. Avant même d’imaginer un jour son triomphe, il s’agit dans l’immédiat d’empêcher sa stagnation, voire sa régression. Comment ? En faisant ce que les acteurs de la finance durable ont toujours fait : avancer avec conviction pour faire pivoter la finance sans abandonner la rationalité, ni même la logique de rendement. Cette éthique du changement est celle qui a toujours animé la MAIF, et qui prévaut dans la gestion de son portefeuille de 20 milliards d’euros d’actifs, source de rentabilité et d’impact positif. C’est cette vision que nous voulons partager en affirmant qu’un chemin existe à deux conditions : assumer une part d’engagement pour maintenir la flamme, la normaliser pour la transmettre au plus grand nombre.Cairn restricted access |
