要約:The cultural policy conducted by the German administration in Luxembourg impacted many aspects of the artistic life of the territory, through Germanization of the arts (support or exclusion of artists, propaganda exhibitions, and lectures). The persecution of the Jews also played a role in this process. Jewish artists and art dealers were dispossessed, some even deported, and some Jewish stores were converted into exhibition spaces celebrating the glory of the Nazi regime. Then the revenues from the liquidation of Jewish property were used to finance the Germanization, which included buying art for the future Landesmuseum planned in Luxembourg city. After the war the focus turned to the patriotic or antipatriotic behavior of individuals, bringing to the fore figures of the Resistance—or people perceived as such—and leaving many questions unanswered. The spoliation of Jewish property was one of these, which has been addressed only recently in Luxembourg.
