Riassunto:This paper summarises German and international research on the relationship between nutrition policy and the mass murder of the Jews. At the beginning of the 1940s, various German institutions planned on reducing the food supply to Jews in order to better provide other ethnic groups with scarce food supplies. In 1941/41, in the German-occupied Soviet territories and in German-occupied Poland, this led German administrations, SS and police to undertake plans to increase or speed up the murdering of the Jews in order to free up food supplies. This was based on pragmatic and ideological considerations. Research gaps exist, for example, in the history of everyday life concerning the diet of persecuted Jews.
