The source allows Théofilakis to address the last “role” played by the former SS officier, that of the one of the “cautious bureaucrate”. Théofilakis discussed the ways in which historians have dealt with the published part of this documentation so far and exposed their methodological concerns. He then provided the first attempt at using theses writings as sources for a new history on the trial as understood through the critical perspective of the defendant in the glass booth.Cairn free access
