This essay deals with the role played by the corps in that area.The corps maintained its special and autonomous feature and operated at the command of Gen. Globocnik Höhre SS-und Polizei Führer only. They represented one of the most effective political police groups as regards persecution and repression. They were mainly concerned with the capture and deportation of the Jewish people present on the territory and the looting of their possessions and properties, with executions and the following removal of the corpses and the running of the Polizeihaftlager – Risiera San Sabba. |
