| Resumo: | Rwanda, historical aspects and major controversiesThe author focuses on major issues in the history of Rwanda which are also controversial. Five issues are identified and outlined, however without the extensive debate that the subject warrants.The first issue concerns dates related to the settlement in Rwanda —a subject which is very controversial in itself. Next is the question regarding the common origin of the tribes. Also covered is the subject of the rise of the Rwandan monarchy, of colonial racism that later became post-colonial racism, and finally, the so-called revolution of 1959.The conclusion draws attention again to the painful issue of the denial of the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda. |
