Thus, the memory of the Ghetto Rebellion as a source of national pride was marginalized, while the suffering of individual Jews have become the main theme of the Israeli privatized memory of the Holocaust. The privatization of the Israeli collective memory of the Holocaust is an ideological reflection of the process of privatization and dismantling of the welfare state that Israel is undergoing in the last three decades. Post-Zionism, as the ideology of the Israeli privatization revolution, plays a major role in the privatization of the Holocaust. The alleged indifference of Zionist leadership to the Holocaust and the alleged cultural oppression of the Holocaust survivors in Israel are used by post-Zionism as a proof to the inherent oppressing nature of Zionist ideology and Israeli politics. Renunciation of Israeli collective memory serves in this way to reject as oppressive all forms of Israeli collectivity. Thus, the Post-Zionist cult of guilt, in which privatization of the memory of the Holocaust plays a significant role, serves as an ideological precondition for the economic and social privatization of Israel.Cairn free access
