It seems today that it was one of the most media exposed events of the 20th century. Its advantage over the Nuremberg trial (October 1945-November 1946) as an intellectual stimulus lies in the fact that at the heart of the trial stood one man, Adolf Eichmann, whose daily job was to facilitate the operation of the systematic murder of the European Jews. As a result, many issues arose during the trial that had to do with the place of the individual in the mechanism within which he functions, as well as the decisions and choices he made. These questions are as relevant today as they were almost half a century ago.The paper focuses on the Israeli literature of the trial, namely one that was written by Israeli writers or books that were written outside the state but were translated into Hebrew. Part of that literature was already being published by the time of the trial. It was mostly of impressionistic personal and juristic nature. A second intensive wave of writing occurred in the 1990s and the early 2000s, almost four decades later. The chronology of this paper is built around these two poles, in an attempt to map, describe and interpret the changes.Cairn free access
