Sumari:Confiscation of Jewish property by the fascist regime in Romania during the Holocaust years was the fulfillment of an old anti-Semitic plan of the nationalist and anti-Semitic movements, not an imitation of the Nazi-German “Arization” action. This paper deals with the seizure of Jewish property in various parts of Romania according to the different fate of the Jews in those areas.Nationalization by anti-Semitic and racial legislation, confiscation of property and plunder by eviction from rural areas and towns; use of force and terror in order to force the Jews to hand over various kinds of property, businesses and money; taxes, levies and “contributions” in Old Romania and southern Transylvania; confiscation, nationalization, robbery during the liquidation and deportation campaign in Bessarabia and Bukovina; post-factum “legalization” of the plunder campaigns; and, finally, seizure of property of all sorts, taken from the Jews deported in Transnistria before their deportation, during and after the mass murder actions.
