Shrnutí:In occupied France, the Government of Marshall Philippe Pétain developed an autonomous anti-Semitic policy, without any pressure from the German occupiers. This policy developed rapidly in a first Jewish Statute (October 3, 1940). In the meantime, the German military government in Paris promulgated its own anti-Semitic measures. If the French policy in Automn 1940 wanted to expel the Jews from their positions in the administration, political life and the medias, it did not intend to confiscate their properties, to “aryanize” the economy. Though, from fear of a take over of important sectors of the French economy by the Germans, the French administration struggled to be able to implement itself the German measures. This lead to a “rivalry” in the confiscation policies and a “nationalization” of the confiscation. This article intends to describe these phenomenon and to show how the French administration finale took over almost the entire work of “Aryanization”.
