A meditation on the universality of the crime that was committed ?As one can imagine, controversy on the Holocaust remains most sensitive inside the State of Israel. The debate concerns not only explicit commemoratory events, but, more important, the oceanic non-expressed context which is at the heart of the relationship entertained by Zionism with Diasporic history. Furthermore, it puts again on the table the question : what was the real reason for the creation of the State of Israel, that hesitates between Hertzel’s concept of a Jewish State-refuge and the ethical mission which Ahad Haam wanted to fulfill.Cairn free access |
