Résumé:After the ongoing Genocide was revealed almost in its totality, a dissident group of Yishuv intellectuals was created ; it included both secular and religious individuals who, in a quite informal way, decided to raise their voices and confront the official line propounded by the Zionist movement. The name which they adopted was based on a biblical verse which also defines their aim : “Do not keep silent” (Al-domi in Hebrew). In other words, the Yishuv should reverse its priorities, for the time being, and dedicate all its efforts to the salvation of European Jewry. In essence and without underestimating the complexity of the situation that then existed, their work was unsuccessful. Their failure, however, reflects first and foremost the Yishuv’s general lack of power to do anything at all.
