Whereas the crime of solicitation has given rise to a great deal of research, the violence suffered by victims remains to be understood. The article examines the denunciation of violent acts committed by confessors, before the court of Siena, during a long seventeenth century. The expected denunciation concerned the abuse of the sacrament. But the accounts of the denouncers (mainly women) made the solicitation drift towards a crime of the flesh. The article shows that, while the procedure reframed their statements in terms of an abuse of the sacrament, the witnesses persisted in using the Holy Office as a place to denounce sexual violence.La révélation d’abus sexuels systémiques en contexte ecclésial impose de revenir aux sources qui peuvent les documenter dans le temps, notamment aux dossiers inquisitoriaux pour sollicitation. Alors que le crime a donné lieu à de nombreux travaux, les violences subies par des victimes restent à comprendre. L’article étudie la dénonciation, devant le tribunal de Sienne, d’actes violents commis par des confesseurs, pendant un long xviie siècle. La délation attendue concerne l’abus du sacrement. Mais les récits des délateurs (essentiellement des femmes) font dériver la sollicitation vers un crime de chair. L’article montre que, si la procédure recadre leurs propos dans l’abus du sacrement, les déposants persistent à faire du Saint-Office un lieu où dénoncer les violences sexuelles.Cairn free access
