Resumo:The French anthem had established itself in Spain as a revolutionary song from the first half of the XIXth century. Among the French republican symbols adopted in Spain by the republican political culture, La Marseillaise was (and is) the best known and the most identified with the revolutionary fight and with the freedom of the peoples. The adaptations of this song in Spain from the first stages of the liberalism, like the Anthem of Riego, then the appropriation of its music by the republican political culture gave birth to numerous patriotic, regionalist, and revolutionary versions that made the French anthem the identity mark of the Revolution in Spain.
