Résumé:In spite of the anti-republicanism of the French State and the German ban in occupied zone, the French national anthem never disappears totally from the pro-Vichy landscape. The French State exploits it through its sixth stanza, the people sing it to protest, especially his tune, as well as the resistance movements with the first and seventh stanza.Vichy tries to replace it by its own anthem, « Marshal, here we are », that will never be a success as in France the mobilizing music belongs to the republican culture more than to the totalitarian one.
