| Shrnutí: | General Lassalle is a symbolic figure of the military heroes who created the glory and legend of the Republican then Imperial Armies. Thanks to his physical courage, audacity in battle, and his panache, this leader was clearly an exceptional member of the French cavalry. This combatant’s short yet intense life lasted throughout the Revolution and the First Empire, only to end on July 6, 1809 during the battle of Wagram at the age of 34. During his lifetime, his contemporaries compared him to the Chevalier de Bayard. General Lassalle epitomizes the era of the Grande Armée and its soldiers. |
