The time of a victorious encounter with the designated persecuting object (immediately constituted and lost) proves to be the time of psychotic disorganization, between schizophrenia and paranoia. We examine the onset, process and origin of the illness, in which Freud’s notion of the “loss of reality” in psychosis encompasses the loss of otherness (raising the question of melancholia, as well as the type of object relationship), temporality and spatiality. Cairn free access
