Puis l’auteur souligne que Peirce va plus loin dans la description de la dialectique entre doute et croyance, puisqu’il la généralise – la pensée n’a d’autre but que de parvenir à la croyance – et lui donne une dimension économique – la croyance est un état de repos. Dans un troisième temps l’auteur insiste sur la dimension inconsciente de ces processus psychiques : il reprend l’Esquisse puis se concentre sur la notion de relation d’inconnu de Guy Rosolato, en explorant le parallèle entre les deux couples relation d’objet/croyance, relation d’inconnu/doute. L’inconnu a une dimension anthropologique, celle de l’homme incertain.The author introduces his article by comparing the reflections of Dorian Astor, a specialist on Nietzsche, on uncertainty, with those of the philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce. Astor makes an impassioned plea for uncertainty and denounces the harmful effects of certainty, two positions that can already be found in Peirce’s writings on belief. The author then points out that Peirce goes further in describing the dialectic between doubt and belief, since he generalizes it – thought has no other aim than to arrive at belief – and gives it an economic dimension, asserting that belief is a state of rest. In the third part, the author lays emphasis on the unconscious dimension of these psychic processes: he takes up the Project and then focuses on Guy Rosolato’s notion of the relation d’inconnu (the relation to the unknown), exploring the parallel between the two pairs of object relation/belief and relation to the unknown/doubt. Luego el autor subraya el hecho de que Peirce va más lejos en la descripción de la dialéctica entre duda y creencia, ya que la generaliza – el pensamiento no tiene otro objetivo que el de llegar a la creencia – y le otorga una dimensión económica – la creencia es un estado de reposo. En un tercer tiempo, el autor insiste en la dimensión inconsciente de tales procesos psíquicos: y retoma el Esbozo para luego concentrarse en la noción de relación de desconocido de Guy Rosolato, explorando y comparando las parejas relación de objeto/creencia y relación de desconocido/duda.
