The appropriation of an object depends on the conjunction of a hallucination (in the primitive sense), a negative hallucination that eliminates the aspects of the object that do not correspond to the aims of the drive, and a recognition of the object’s cathexis of us, which marks its otherness. Clinical hallucinations reflect different forms of dysfunctioning of the function of negative hallucination.El objeto extraño aparece como un elemento perceptivo que no ha sido cargado desde la perspectiva de la alucinación primitiva. La apropiación de un objeto atañe a la conjunción de una alucinación (en su sentido primitivo), de una alucinación negativa que elimina del objeto lo que no forma parte de las metas de la pulsión, y de un reconocimiento de la carga del objeto hacia nosotros, lo que evidencia su alteridad.
