Neutrality operates in the space between both its faces, that is to say, between its behavioural façade, which prolongs the impersonal nature of the analytic framework, and its inherent disposition to a type of receptivity in line with the principle of floating attention, which makes it possible to work through the counter-transference. In this way, its fluctuating nature is able to both de-fuse and re-fuse structural subjective implications and internal framework on the side of the analyst. La neutralidad opera entre la distancia de sus dos caras : una fachada conductista que parece prolongar la impersonalidad del marco ; y una disposición íntima de modo receptivo que prolonga el principio de la escucha flotante, y subextiende la posibilidad de elaborar la contratransferencia.
