Freud et Picasso, chacun dans son domaine, ont su faire reculer les bornes du symbolique. Dans un autre registre, le déplacement des temples d’Abou-Simbel en fournit une illustration saisissante. Summary — Sublimations indicate a metaphorical opening that breaks with the relation of contiguity with the object. “ Major ” sublimations that have led to creations nourishing the common cultural heritage of humanity indicate a break with the characteristics of the age. Freud and Picasso, each in their domain, were able to push back the limits of the symbolic. In another context, a startling example is provided by Simbel with the displacement of the Temples of Abou. Resumen — Las sublimaciones muestran una apertura metafórica que rompe la relación de contigüidad con el objeto. Las “ grandes ” sublimaciones, aquéllas que han conducido a creaciones que forman parte del patrimonio común de la humanidad, muestran ruptura con elementos de la época. Freud y Picasso, cada uno en su dominio, lograron hacer retroceder los límites de lo simbólico. En otro registro, el desplazamiento de los templos de Abou-Simbel brinda una ilustración sorprendente. Zusammenfassung — Die Sublimierungen sind eine metaphorische Öffnung, welche die Beziehung durch Kontiguität bricht die “ grossen ” Sublimierungen, die welche zu Schöpfungen, die das gemeinsame kulturelle Erbgut der Menschheit nähren, geführt haben, unterstehen einem Bruch mit der Epoche.
