Descripció
Sumari:This article deals with managerial violence, defined as the use, in an organization, of management methods causing suffering that is subjectively perceived as excessive. Drawing on a wide-ranging literature in the human and social sciences and on the analysis of empirical cases of managerial vio-lence, we distinguish six types, based on three categories distinguished according to their hot or cold forms: physical violence (direct or indirect), psychological violence (visible or invisible), and symbolic violence (brutal or insidious). Research perspectives are envisaged so that management science can really get to grips with it, and thus participate more effectively in public debate when scandals erupt.
