Based on a survey of 670 fans and a structural equation model, it shows that their representations of social responsibility organized around social inclusion, education, donations, ethics, the environment, and the economy have a positive influence on clubs’ brand equity, the intention to buy tickets and merchandise, brand attachment, and positive word-of-mouth. The authors recommend aligning clubs’ CSR strategies with these expectations for competitive advantage.Cet article explore la responsabilité sociale des clubs de football sous l’angle des supporters. À partir d’une enquête auprès de 670 supporters et d’un modèle d’équations structurelles, il montre que leurs représentations de la responsabilité sociale organisées autour de l’insertion sociale, de l’éducation, des dons, de l’éthique, de l’environnement et de l’économie influencent positivement le capital marque des clubs, l’intention d’achat de billets et de produits dérivés, l’attachement à la marque ainsi que le bouche-à-oreille positif. Les auteurs recommandent d’aligner les stratégies RSO des clubs avec ces attentes pour un avantage concurrentiel.Cairn restricted access
