Poststructuralist criticism, after its golden age in the US, is now facing various challenges. Nevertheless, the proliferation of studies—Gender, Queer, Decolonial, Affect, Critical Race Theory—attests to an undeniable critical vitality, fueled by interdisciplinarity and intersectionality. The five contributions that follow illustrate this dynamic. François Cusset traces the genealogy of transatlantic theoretical exchanges. Sylvie Bauer highlights the political threats weighing on critical thought. Audrey Célestine examines the French appropriation of Black Studies. Stéphane Vanderhaeghe shows how contemporary American fiction turns the hermeneutics of suspicion against its readers. Finally, Jean-Paul Rocchi invokes Fanon to envision a form of critique that is both symptomatic and reparative.Cairn restricted access
